Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing is a relatively new concept and promising technology for industrial production. It important to investigate the environmental impact of AM process in light critical situation Earth. The elimination some costly prefabrication processes such molding or post-fabrication stages machining welding required traditional methods favor provide beneficial economic advantages. Furthermore, reduction steps contributes protection through fewer operations, less material, energy consumption, reduced transportation. This study review assessment life cycle well-known technologies metallic parts components. fabrication pump impeller simulated metal production casting direct comparison. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) applied measure five different lifetime with two processes. compared has an potential 15%, 20%, 65%, 10% respectively Global Warming Potential (GWP), Acidifications (AP), Water Aquatic Eco-toxicity (FAETP), Human Toxicity (HTP), Stratospheric Ozone Depletion (ODP). Using hydroelectricity renewable electricity mitigate pre-manufacturing temporarily until advancement consuming energy. Recommendations future research enhance sustainability proposed outcomes this study.
